Making Land Data Work for People and Policy

In a digital world, land data shapes visibility, rights and access to services. In this panel at ICARRD+20, we explore how to advance inclusive, equitable land data to protect rights and strengthen democratic governance.

In a digital world, data determines who is visible, who can claim rights, and who receives services. When people or communities are missing or misrepresented in land data systems, they are excluded from decision-making, land rights, and protections, reinforcing existing inequalities. Ensuring equitable and inclusive land data is therefore essential for protecting rights and supporting democracy.
