iAtlantic Stakeholder Dialogue
A civil society consultation at the UN Ocean Conference 2022
iAtlantic is an ambitious EU-funded international research programme that takes an ocean-wide approach to understand the factors that control the distribution, stability and vulnerability of marine ecosystems. This meeting is the first of a series of planned iAtlantic dialogues focusing on different stakeholder segments.
The aim of this first Stakeholder Dialogue is to gather civil society and NGO perspectives on the relevance of basin-scale science for sustainable ocean management. We hope to identify mutual opportunities for the transfer of knowledge, data and expertise, and explore future research needs in light of a changing ocean and key ocean governance processes in relation to marine biodiversity, climate change, and impacts from human activities such as fisheries and deep-sea mining.
