Lucia supports various research projects at TMG. After studying in Mexico, France and Germany, she earned a BA in Architecture and urban planning (UNAM, 2013) and an MSc in Natural Resource Management (TH-Köln, 2017). She is currently pursuing a degree in Ecology at the Technische Universität Berlin.
Her work addresses the flows of natural resources with a social-ecological systems perspective, focusing on sustainable human settlements and production systems. Before joining TMG, Lucia worked for the United Nations University's Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes, co-developing and testing an integrated sustainability assessment of wastewater systems in the Americas. She has also worked on urban metabolism analysis, hydrological system restoration and ecosystem services. Lucia is an avid cartographer who loves to be on the field. She complements scientific work with civic engagement for a more just and sustainable world.
