Manitrala Rasoanaivo
Manitrala (literally meaning "scent of the forest") Rasoanaivo is a Malagasy agronomist and forestry engineer, with a postgraduate degree in forestry, environment and development from the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Agronomiques (ESSA) of the University of Antananarivo (Madagascar).During her academic studies and 12 years of professional experience, she has assisted various public and private institutions, at different scales (in different regions of Madagascar and recently in the Seychelles), in the mobilisation of funding for sustainable forest resource management, biomass energy, green value chain development, landscape and degraded land restoration and climate change mitigation and adaptation. These actions mainly benefit the most vulnerable populations in improving their living conditions and leaders in achieving sustainable development goals. As a forestry consultant, she has had the opportunity to work with several funding institutions at national and international level, including the European Union, the German International Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ), the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
